For the good work of the State Executives Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello in extending good governance and dividends of democracy to Odu Communities, scores of members of the People’s Democratic party [PDP] and the Social Democratic party [SDP] in Odu Ofomu community on Thursday traced their steps back to the governing party, the All Progressives Congress [APC]
The former oppositions Party’s leaders which comprised of the Womenfolks, youths and the elderly explained that their decision were necessitated by the impressive performances of the state governor, Alh Yahaya Bello in providing social amenities to several Odu Communities which previous
political leaders failed to achieved.
They equally hinged their unanimous decisions to support Alh ODODO/OYIBO governorship candidacy in the upcoming election due to Alh Yakubu Okala and Senator Jibrin Isah Echo-cho for using their strategic positions to fast track positive transformation to Odu ward one and Odu ward two respectively.
According to the decampees ,the provision of rural electrification , potable water supply, health care facilities, education [primary and secondary Schools [ appointments of their sons and daughters into position of Authorities and the recent upgrading of the ‘Atamodu Odu Stool’ to a first class status by the state government under the stewardship of Governor Yahaya Bello also facilitated their decisions to massively dump their former political parties for the All Progressives Congress.
Kogi State Auditor General who is also an illustrious son of the area, Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala , who received the defectors onbehalf of the state governor, Alh Yahaya Bello expressed appreciation for their wise decisions .
He appealed to them to go all out to mobilize Support for the All Progressives Congress party and her candidates of Alh ODODO Ahmed and JOEL OYIBO mandate as they possess the requisite capacities, knowledge and vast experience to consolidate on the guangantuan achievements of Governor Yahaya Bello who’s administration will come to an end in January ,2024.
The highly elited Okala ,who was surprised with the mamoth crowd that attended the decamping ceremony promised of equal treatment for the new comers as there would no division between the old and new members.
On arrival , Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf with his entourage had visited the Paramount ruler of Odu , who’s the Ogohi Odu land ,His Royal Highness , Chief Ibrahim Musa for royal blessings.
While exchanging views with the royal father, Okala informed that Odu Ofomu would soon be connected to the national grid as contract for the electrification project has been awarded by the state government.
He praised the local Chief for the relative peace and unity his domain has witnessed since his ancesion to the throne of his forefathers adding that peace remain a panacea for the rapid growth and development of any society.
Chief Ibrahim Musa commended the state Governor Yahaya Bello and Alhaji Yakubu Yusuf Okala for their tireless efforts geared towards fostering massive rural development during his tenure assuring his subject’s unfettered Support for the policies and programmes of government by co-habiting peacefully with one another.
