The All Progressives Congress, APC, has Condemned governor Godwin Obaseki decision to fill the State Civil Service workforce with alleged cronnies which is a violation of the oath of office and act of economic sabotage.

In a release signed by the State Chairman, Emperor Khalifa Jarret Tenebe, said , “the party has investigated all the reports and our findings affirmed the terrible decisions the governor has implemented and is still planning to implement at the twilight of his government.”

” In the light of these worrisome discoveries, we hereby put Edo people on notice, that Obaseki’s decision to fill the State Civil Service workforce with his cronnies is a violation of the oath of office and act of economic sabotage. ” He stated.

” We condemned The Last Minute Plan By The Outgoing Governor Godwin Obaseki To Cause Dissatisfaction in Edo State and Scuttle The Incoming Administration of Senator Monday Okpebholo

Also, Our party the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been inaudated with reports of last minute decisions taken by the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki.

“We have investigated all the reports and our findings affirmed the terrible decisions Mr. Obaseki has implemented and is still planning to implement at the twilight of his government.

Of note is his unilateral decision to convert hundreds of his former political aides and others who were his personal staff in Afrinvest Company, into the Edo State Civil Service.

In doing so, Mr. Obaseki discountenanced the established statutory requirement for civil service rule by refusing to declare vacancy and usurping the role of Edo State Civil Service Commission.

Tenebe further stated that, ” also in his manner to create industrial dispute for the incoming administration, Obaseki has mandated a sinister body to workout a new minimum wage of N85,000 for workers in the state, despite the open fact that he has been unable to fully implement the N70,000 approved by the APC led Federal Government of Nigeria.

The revelations that have emerged in the public knowledge from the ongoing investigation of key officers in Obaseki’s administration by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), points to the fact that Obaseki has mortgaged the state to his business partners.

His hurried choreographed commissioning of uncompleted projects in Benin City is his attempt to justify the inflated contract sums and siphoning of the state resources through phony projects.

Edo people must join hands at this critical time to save whatever is left of our Commonwealth. He concluded.
