Alleged N20b Fixed Deposit Account: Kogi Assembly to Arrest MD Sterling Bank

The Kogi State House of Assembly, Lokoja has given an ultimatum of Tuesday, 16th November, 2021 for the MD, Sterling Bank to show up, else an Executive Order of Arrest will be issued against him.

The Speaker and other members of the Assembly expressed disaffection on the affront against the House by the MD to refuse to show up on the investigation and clear the air on the Controversy surrounding Kogi’s alleged N20b Fixed Deposit Account Bail Out.

The Assembly frowned that there was no document to show that any other person, or group of persons were represent the Managing Director of Sterling Bank, insisting that the House is waiting to hear from the Sterling Bank’s Management Staff.

At yesterday’s plenary, a Lawyer, Olukayode Enitan (SAN) who accompanied Sterling Bank Staff to the Chambers stated that the Manager Director just got the invitation, and as such, the Sterling Bank Regional Manager came to represent the Sterling Bank.

The Regional Manager,
Mr. Enejo Ibrahim, Managing Director, Public Sector Banking, North Central was placed on oath by the Speaker but could not present a document that he is really representing the Managing Director.
