Alleged Attack: APC Calls On Security Agencies, Party Members To Help Protect INEC Office In Edo

The All Progressives Congress (APC), has called on the Security Agencies and party members to join in securing the Office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Edo State against Arson Attack

The party in a statement signed by the chairman, Emperor Jarret Tenebe and made available to journalists in Benin City, said, ” it has discovered a plan by an opposition party to burn down Edo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to Tenebe, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) wishes to inform the Inspector General of Police, the Directorate of State Security and Nigerians in general that, we have uncovered the dangerous plans by an opposition party to burn down Edo State office of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC)”.

Adding that, ” their action is designed to destroy the relevant materials, including the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), ballot papers, result sheets and others that were used for the September 21 governorship election in our dear state. ” He stated.

” In the light of this timely and expedient discovery, we are urging Edo youths and members of our party and other well meaning Edo people to join the security agencies to frustrate them from carrying out this condemnable evil plan”.

Stating that, ” the Election Petition Tribunal has granted us the order to have a joint inspection of relevant election materials .
