The Lawmaker, Representing Omala State Constituency, Kogi State House of Assembly, Hon. Umar Yahaya has condemned in strong terms the killing of Constituents in Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State.
Hon. Umar in a statement issued to Newsmen, described the attack and killings as inhuman, pointing out that it is man’s inhumanity against his fellow man taking too extreme. He called for a thorough investigation into the recent killing with the view to bring the Perpetrators to justice.
The Lawmaker lamented that inspite all his efforts and resources towards ensuring peace, some mischief makers who do not mean well for the people of his constituents would attack defenseless and innocent citizens
The Statement reads:
Statement By Hon. Umar Yahaya, Member, Representing Omala State Constituency, Kogi State House of Assembly, Condemning The Killings of Constituents in Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State.
“It is with heavy hearts that I strongly condemn the Killings in Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State.
“Permit me to State that this attack on the
Agojeju-Odo Community of Omala Local Government Area, Kogi State is one too many despite efforts and intervention for peace.
“While I without mincing words and reservation condemn this dasterdly attack and incident on my people. I wholeheartedly send my deepest condolences to the affected families who lost their loved ones in the dasterdly attack that is unwarranted and unfortunate.
“Let me once again restate that since this sadly incidence, series of high powered engagement has been ongoing to forestall a repeat of such occurrence in Omala LGA. With the commitment thus far, this killers in whatever guise, would not go unpunished.
” In my personal capacity, I have held Stakeholders engagement, with far reaching recommendations and Communique issued to the State Government on how to arrive at lasting peace in Omala LGA.
” Up till yesterday, I met with the Committee set up by the State Government, the SA on Security, the representatives of the 5 district in Omala and some critical Stakeholders all in a bid to return lasting peace to Omala LGA
“Let me use this medium to solicit for calm from Constituents as the machinery for long lasting and permanent peace to return to our Local Government has been sincerely activated.
“Let me also assure that the Perpetrators of this heinous crime would this time not go free as the long arms of the law is set to catch up with this inhuman criminals from the pit of hell.
“I am therefore using this medium to call on the Federal and State Government to intensify more efforts in ensuring that the culprits are arrested, brought to book with sincere commitment towards ensuring that Omala LGA never witness a repeat of such occurrence.
“Once again, I, Hon. Umar Yahaya, in the strongest terms, condemn this attack on my people as it is inhuman, satanic in all ramification and has no justification whatsoever. Enough of the killing of my people.
