Again Appeal Court Affirms Hon. Egbunu Victory As Member Kogi Assembly


 

 

 

Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Tuesday affirmed the election of APC candidate , Hon. Atule Egbunu as the duly elected member of Kogi State House of Assembly representing Ibaji State constituency.

The landmark judgement was sequel to Federal High Court judgment that removed Hon. Egbunu from the Assembly on the grounds that his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) failed to conduct a valid primary election that produced him as their candidate for the December 5, 2020 by-election in Ibaji Constituency.

The suit was filed by APC House of Assembly aspirant in Kogi State, Mr. Joseph Enemona where the court declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Daniel Enefola who came second in the Ibaji Constituency by-election winner of the poll

Hon. Egbunu who was not bothered by the judgement headed to Appeal Court in Abuja where he got a landmark judgement affirming his candidacy and the victory at the poll.

Speaking with newsmen in Lokoja on Tuesday , Hon Egbunu ascribed the victory at the appeal court to the people of Ibaji local government.

He lauded the support of Governor Yahaya Bello and his Deputy Edward Onoja they gave him through out the litigation period , assuring that he will deliver a robust legislation to the people of his constituency and Kogi State in general.
