Aftermaths Killing of Boy in Kabba: Convener Congress For Better Nigeria Wants Gov. Bello to Call Kogi Police Commissioner To Order.


 

The Kogi State Governor has been called upon to intervene in the alledged incessant and indescriminate arrest of Youths in Kabba town Aftermath the killing of a boy by a policeman and the burning down of the old Kabba Police Barracks.

The Convener, Congress For Better Nigeria, Barr Zaccaeus Dare, made the call in a statement, lamented the arrest and alledged demands of huge sums of money in the name of bail.

The Convener, expressed worries that if the situation of the unwanton arrest is not nipped in the bud it may snow ball into further breakdown of law and order.

Barr. Dare called on the Governor to call the CP to order, pointing out that he is aware that an investigation has been ordered into the matter, wondered why the arrest has become a free for all.

But in a swift reaction, the Kogi State Commissioner of Police, CP Edward Egbuka, said the Police would not fold its hands and watch miscreants burndown a complete Police Barracks made up of twelve flats.

He said the police should be allowed to do there job, insisting that it is a bit part of the ongoing investigation to unravel the pepetrators of the burning down of the Police Barracks.

He said the Policeman who was alledged to have committed the crime was arrested and in detention, said the people ought to have awaited the outcome of the investigation before taking laws into their hands, said the Police would get to the root of the matter and ensure that the pepetrators of the arson are brought to book.
