ACHUBA PREACHES PEACE, UNITY, LOVE AT EASTER, URGES CHRISTIANS TO EMULATE CHRIST


 

As the world celebrate this year’s Easter, the former Deputy Governor of Kogi State Elder Simon Achuba, has urged the Christian faithfuls to emulate Jesus Christ and walk in His examples by promoting peace, unity and living in love.

 

Elder Achuba who gave the charge in his Easter message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Akor Sylvester, felicitated with the people of Kogi State and Christians all over the world, as they celebrate this day, which he stressed, commemorates the persecution, death and resurrection of the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ.

The former Deputy Governor noted that the Easter celebration signals an assurance of a new beginning, not only in the life of an individual Christian, but for the entire State, and by extension, the world as a whole.

He described Easter as the triumph of light over darkness, noting that the season reassures mankind that the Almighty God can turn an unpleasant situation around for the good of His people.

The former Deputy Governor urged all Kogites and Nigerians to continue to be confident and believe strongly in God for a better future, stating that the “risen Christ has done it all for us”.

He appealed to all to practice the Christian virtues of sacrifice, patience, love and abiding faith for a better tomorrow as exemplified in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, stressing that it is not possible to develop any society where the Christian virtues of love, sacrifices for one another, patience and hope for a better future are lacking.

The former Deputy Governor further enjoined Nigerian youth to shun social vices and work for the unity of the country as they mark this important day in the lives of Christians across the world.
