Ahead of the scheduled PDP primaries, a leading aspirant for the Oredo federal constituency ticket, OSARO ONAIWU , is bent on not taking things for granted and, as a result, he has continued his consultations in a bid to touch base with critical party stakeholders.
He was accompanied on the visit by a large entourage of party supporters and members, including the 12 PDP youth leaders in his constituency and a vociferous group of teeming youths who came to show solidarity with his ambition.
Speaking with reporters, an upbeat Osaro Onaiwu (Jr) said he embarked on the visit to the State party chairman, Hon Tony Aziegbemi and members of the party’s State Working Committee, SWC, essentially to rub minds and also intimate them of his ambition.
A press release issued by his campaign organisation, described the visit of the aspirant and the resultant parley with high ranking officials of the party as “fruitful and an eye-opener”, adding it allowed him to explain the reason behind his popular refrain: “The Oredo First Agenda” as well as unfold his manifesto,.
In addition, he promised to build on the legacies of his predecessor while, at the same time, making sure his Oredo First mantra resonates clearly in every one of his endeavours as a lawmaker.
He then proceeded to solicit maximum support of the party delegates to enable him to fly the PDP flag in the forthcoming general elections, with an assurance of victory at the polls.
A hopeful and focused Osaro, reflecting on the outcome of his wide consultations, said he is optimistic about garnering the needed support among the party leaders and delegates which he noted will ultimately culminate in his victory at the polls, stating further that he possesses both the capacity and competence to give his Oredo constituents “a new lease of life and representation”.
Edo State PDP chairman, Hon Aziegbemi praised Onaiwu(Jr) for thinking outside of the box on ways to better a lot of his people, adding the PDP is in dire need of his likes to hold elective political positions to move the state forward.
Hon Aziegbemi also offered prayers and best wishes to the aspirant as he pursues his ambition, while also assuring all aspirants about the resolve of the party’s leadership to provide a level playing field for everyone before and during the primaries, in line with its ethos, principles and the tenets of democracy.
