By joshua ACHUBA MOURNS LATE FORMER GOVERNOR IBRAHIM IDRIS, DESCRIBES DEATH AS HUGE LOSS
The former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, Elder Simon Achuba has expressed sadness over the death of the former Governor of the State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his passing as a huge loss to Kogi State and the country as a whole. .
Achuba in a condolence message to mourn the deceased, said the death of the former Governor represents a significant loss to the State and Nigeria.
Elder Achuba said the former Governor made his marks during his service to the state, adding that his tenures impacted on the lives of the people meaningfully.
The former Deputy Governor noted the deceased contributions to the Nigerian politics and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) remaind significant, particularly during his years of service in Kogi State.
Elder Achuba stated that the administration of the late former Governor would be remembered for infrastructure development, education, healthcare and others, noting that the contributions of his government would not be forgotten in the state.
He said, as a public servant, the late former Governor touched many lives positively, urging the immediate family to take solace in the fact that the deceased left behind legacies that remain remarkable in the history of the state.
“I received with profound sadness the news of the passing of our former Governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, a prominent Kogi son and renowned politician who passed away at the age of 77.
“During his tenures as the Governor of Kogi State, he provided leadership to the people of the state and to his party in the state. Through these roles, he made his mark in the state as a governor. His service earned him a place in the political history of Kogi State”, he said.
The former Deputy Governor further commiserated with the deceased’s friends and political associates.
“I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, political associates, colleagues and numerous well-wishers of late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the former Executive Governor of Kogi State.
“I particularly sympathise with his wife, children and loved ones at this difficult time.
“May God grant his family the strength and fortitude to bear this painful loss, and may He grant His Excellency, late Ibrahim Idris eternal rest.”
Late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2011.
