It is pertinent to note, that this appreciable write-up is specifically compiled and ignited by the unquantifiable security achievements of the incumbent Chairman and Chief Security Officer of Idah local government, Hon. ABUH ODOMA.
His sincere passion for the peace of Idah and it environ has blossom my zeal and hunger to pen this down today being the 22nd day of March 2023. Judging from his plethora achievements in the security sector within the period of 3 years.
Hon. Abuh Odoma was unfortunately unfortunate that he inherited a lawless and economically dilapidating Idah local government, a very toxic environment to say, as at his assumption into office, people’s repulsion towards his capability was too high due to the level at which things has degenerated in Idah local government.
Before his accession, Idah remains the cynosure of crime in Kogi State, there was recorded numbers of attack and killing between the youths of Idah local government due to cult clashes and other related social vices, in fact, the killings became an emphatic incident, to the point were, well doing men in Idah would be kidnapped, extorted and some would be killed, (the likes of, Mr. Valentine, Ademu Mechanic and others were kidnapped and released after Ransom was paid, Engr. Ayegba Sani Obaje, Mr. Ogacheko Atanu and others were killed before their very family in their own built houses) this compelled some prominent persons and their businesses out of Idah. Phone snatching was not only done in the night but at the day time, snatching away people’s bikes, especially the Okada Ridders, and many other related crimes you can think of.
Hon. Abuh came at a point were women could not go to market and men could not go to their farms due to fear of attack, he came at a point were our uncles, auntie and relations who stayed in the city could no longer come back home for Christmas, Sallah and other festive seasons because of fear of attack, Abuh Odoma came, performed magic through patriotism, commitment, inclusiveness and dedication, little do we know he was a soldier in civilian disguise,
Behold, he was a military in civilian attire, he fought like a lion and roar like a tiger ? he fingered out the only problem(INSECURITY) that has metamorphosed into million and delt with it mercilessly and within a short period as Chairman, he was able to restore the eluding peace, reduce drastically crime and criminality to the minimal level and this singular act has equally ignited the rapid rise of the economy of Idah local government, as he has used his security expertise to set a palatable, conducive and enabling environment for smooth running of daily businesses, unlike before, once is 4pm, all shops, stores, markets would be closed for the day.
Today, it is no longer a news that natives of Idah now sleep every night with their two eyes closed, IDAH is nothing but a CRIME FREE ZONE, very unbearable for the street name called “BAD BOYS” to stay.
Hon. Abuh has exhibited uncommon wisdom, remarkable vision, and an examplary leadership, he has proven himself to be a Leader of Equity and Justice. It will equally interest you to know that all the aforementioned security scorecards of Hon. Abuh was not achieved in isolation, it was a collective efforts of his team, Idah traditional rulers, opposition political parties and most especially cooperation of the Youths, but interestingly Hon. Abuh unite them all and make Idah the first priority, he is always at the forefront, while the people are asleep in the night, he is awake and moving round the nook and cranny to ensure there is peace throughout.
It is on this note I want to make an appeal to the state government that after his successful tenure, he should be elevated or reconsider, for one good term deserves another. This one man who has turned Idah to one of the most secured local government in Nigeria( as rated on the National News, months ago) should be deeply appreciated and compensated for another pleasurable term, to enable him build on his legacy.
IDAH NEEDS ANOTHER FACE OF ABUH ODOMA AGAIN.
Even his personal enemies can not deny the fact that they are fighting him in a peaceful environment he built.
