Abocho Community Agog in Celebration in Honour of the High Court Victory of HRH, Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai, Onu Abocho
The good people of Abocho in Biraidu District of Dekina LGA of Kogi State trooped out in large number to welcome the paramount ruler of the community, His Royal Highness, Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai who won his case at the high court over the stool.
The Onu Abocho, HRH Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai while addressing the mammoth crowd stated that, he appreciates the Governor, His Excellency, Alh Ahmed Usman Ododo and all his team members for non- interference in the course of administration of justice leading to his appointment and other traditional rulers in Kogi State ,a solid foundation laid by the fmr Governor, His Excellency Alh Yahaya Bello.
He emphasized that, his nornination, selection and approval of appointment by Kogi State government is a welcome development as confirmed by the Kogi State judiciary.
The Royal father called on all contestants who have genuine interest of the area to join him in moving the community forward in the spirit of love.
He said, even haven won all the five (5) cases instituted against him, he is magnanimous in victory as a father of all and urge other contestants to close ranks above any personal interest .
This, he believes, is the antidote for peace.
He said very soon, a committee for reconciliation will be set up in ensuring everyone is carried along in the scheme of things as regards the community development and that what he wants is peace, progress and development of the land.
At the reception organize to welcome the Chief home, many speakers spoke in honour of the day among whom is Hon Solomon Agada who is an indegene of the area and the publisher of the Confluence Trust Newspaper. He said Abocho people are happy with the nornination, selection, appointment and subsequent verdict of the high court reaffirming the appointment of HRH Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai Onu Abocho, stressing that since his appointment, coronation and beading, Abocho community has witnessed peaceful atmosphere , development among others and urged other contestants not to see this as do or die affairs. Agada maintained that in any any contest, there must always be a winner at the end.
Onu Abocho, HRH Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai who was elated with the crowd stated that, arrangements are in progress for an elaborate celebration after the fasting period and also, plans are in progress for a permanent befitting palace of Onu Abocho and many other developmental projects. He craved for the spirit of love, peace, progress and development of the land as its a collective responsibility of all sons and daughters of the community.
Highlight of the occasion was masquerade dances from all ruling houses of the community and prayers for peace, progress and development from the Chief Imam of Abocho Central Mosque, Alhaji Suleiman Dansofo and a pastor from the community who represented CAN were offered.
It could be recalled that, the High Court of justice no 7 presided by Hon Justice Folorusho Ajayi last week Thursday affirmed the appointment of HRH Ajofe Chief Jonah Idrisu Okai, Onu Abocho by dismissing 4 petitions against him
