Joseph Oluwasegun, Commissioner for Environment and Ecological Management, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as a diligent public servant whose passion for a cleaner and safer Kogi State is unmatched.

In a goodwill message released in Lokoja on Saturday, Hon. Farouk praised Hon. Oluwasegun for the remarkable leadership he has provided in the environmental sector since assuming office, noting that his work has given Kogi a new face in waste management, erosion control, climate action, and ecological sustainability.

“Today we celebrate a visionary leader, a green champion, and a brother in service,” Hon. Farouk said. “Hon. Joseph Oluwasegun has brought uncommon energy, intellect, and compassion to the Ministry of Environment and Ecological Management. Under his watch, we are seeing deliberate policies that protect our land, safeguard our people from flood and erosion, and restore dignity to our environment.”

The Water Resources Commissioner highlighted Hon. Oluwasegun’s commitment to environmental advocacy, community sensitization, and partnership with federal agencies and development partners as key to the progress being recorded in the state. He noted that the synergy between the Ministries of Water Resources and Environment has been instrumental in tackling flooding, gully erosion, and water pollution across Kogi’s three senatorial districts.

“Hon. Oluwasegun is not just a Commissioner. He is a thinker, a planner, and a doer. He understands that a healthy environment is the foundation for healthy people and a prosperous economy. His initiatives in tree planting, desilting of drainages, public enlightenment, and ecological remediation are already yielding results for our communities,” he stated.

Hon. Farouk described his colleague as a team player, a dependable ally in the Kogi State Executive Council, and a man of integrity who approaches governance with humility and a deep sense of responsibility to the people.

“Beyond the office, Hon. Oluwasegun is a jolly good fellow with a heart of humanity. He is accessible, he listens, and he works. He embodies the kind of leadership that Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s administration stands for, service with sincerity and results with compassion,” Hon. Farouk added.

He prayed for God’s continued guidance, strength, and wisdom upon Hon. Oluwasegun as he continues to steer the environmental sector, and expressed optimism that the partnership between both ministries will deliver more dividends to the people of Kogi State.

“On behalf of myself, my family, and the entire staff of the Ministry of Water Resources, I celebrate you today, Hon. Commissioner. May this new age bring you greater grace, more impact, and renewed vigor to serve our dear state,” the message concluded.
