DEMOCRACY DAY YOUTH INTERACTIVE SESSION: Gov. Ododo’s administration committed to uplifting young people through skills acquisition programs – COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT.
The present administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo has since assumption of office, consistently demonstrated commitment to uplifting young people through skills acquisition programs.
The State COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH AND SPORTS DEVELOPMENT, HON. MONDAY ARIDAOJO ANYEBE, made the disclosure in his
WELCOME ADDRESS DELIVERED AT THE 2025 JUNE 12 DEMOCRACY DAY YOUTH INTERACTIVE SESSION held at the Glass House.
The Commissioner explained that the present administration in the State has made youth inclusion in governance, sports development, and enterprise support initiatives a priority, said the interactive session to mark the 2025 democracy day is yet another reflection of that vision, “a leadership style that listens, learns, and leads with the people”.
The Youth Interactive Session by the State Government was organized to commemorate 26 years of uninterrupted democratic governance in Nigeria.
The Commissioner urge Youths of the State to with renewed hope, renewed purpose, and renewed commitment, build a stronger, inclusive and more prosperous nation where the Youths are not just beneficiaries, but drivers of development.
The theme of this year’s celebration, “26 Years of Democracy: Renewing Our Commitment to National Development,” the Commissioner pointed out aligns perfectly with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The agenda the Commissioner further stated places premium on youth empowerment, innovation, job creation, and inclusive governance ensuring that Nigerian youths are not left behind in national progress.
“From tech innovation to agriculture, digital economy to entrepreneurship, President Tinubu is intentionally creating pathways for the youth to thrive, contribute and lead”.
“Here in Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo is replicating and localizing this vision through his Consolidation and Continuity Agenda, with youth engagement and empowerment at its core”.
“To our dear youths gathered here today from all across the state, this is your moment. Your voices matter. Your ideas are valid. Your future is being shaped not in isolation but through active engagement like this. I urge you to speak with confidence, listen with purpose, and leave here ready to play your part in securing and developing our dear state”.
The Commissioner called on the youths continue to rise as builders of a greater Kogi State and a better Nigeria.
