The Governor of Kogi state, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo has assured all ethnic nationality in the state of equal representation in the Governance of the state.
Governor Ahmed Ododo gave the assurance while addressing members of Kogi west Bassa political forum in Lokoja.
Governor Ododo described the support of Bassa people to the present administration as total, noting that they contributed immensely to his emergence in the last Governorship election and urged them to continue to live peacefully among their neighbouring ethnic groups to forster development.
He advised them not to allowed themselves to be cajoled by self centered politicians who can never protect their interest assuring them of more political appointments, Provision of Agricultural inputs and Youth Empowerment, disclosing that the Coal resources discovered in Tawari community of Kogi local government will effectively engage unemployed youths from the area when excavation work fully takes off.
In his comment, the commissioner for Solid Mineral, Engineer Abubakar Bashiru Gegu said Bassa kwomu people are peace loving, industrious and hardworking and has contributed immensely to the socio political and economic development of the state describing them as the largest minority group in the state.
In an opening remarks, the leader of the group, Hon Adakeke Michael Ndazaga said their visit to the Governor was to pledge their unflinching support and loyalty and commend him on his unprecedented achievements within one year in office.
Hon Adakeke pronounced the groups endorsement of Governor Ahmed Ododo for second term in 2027 Governorship election and promised to remain committed and supportive of his administration and commended Engineer Abubakar Bashiru Gegu for his leadership qualities and paving the way for the group to visit Governor Ododo.
Also speaking an APC stalwart from Tawari Ward of Kogi local government area, Mr Gabriel Ndazaga who enumerated the numerous achievements of the Governor, requested him to Upgrade more Bassakwomu traditional rulers, provide more appointments, construction of rural roads in the area and the empowerment of youths.
The Woman leader of the group, Mrs Sara Kure Praised the Governor for regular payment of workers salaries and pensioners describing him as a man integrity and wisdom.
Representative of Aguma o Tawari Hon Ahmed Jigo, Aguma Gambo of Crucial Village and Aguma Rayin of Bakumba Village in felele area of Lokoja were present at the visit.
