NAKOSS REJOICES, APPRECIATES KOGI GOVT. FOR PRIORITIZING ACCESS To STUDENTS AFFORDABLE QUALITY HEALTH SERVICES

 

The National Association of Kogi State Students, has sent a message of appreciation to Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo for signing a Memorandum of Understanding that would enable tertiary institution students in State have access to quality healthcare.

The NAKOSS President, Dr. Jeremiah Elukpo, made the disclosure in a statement issued to Newsmen in Lokoja, described the signing as another epoch making achievements of Gov. Ododo’s love for students.

The NAKOSS President recalled how NAKOSS advocated for a health policy that would enable Kogi State Students in State owned tertiary institutions to benefit from the Kogi State Health Insurance Agency.

 

The President expressed appreciation to the State Government for heeding to the appeal for students to be included in a scheme that would enable access to quality healthcare.

Recalled that the Kogi State Government today signed an MoU for Tertiary Institutions Students to access quality health services. Dr. Elukpo described the scheme as laudable, will improve and save lives on campuses.

He added that the scheme would protect students and families from financial hardship of huge medical bills, maintain high standard of healthcare delivery services and provide better funding opportunities for the Tertiary Institutions health centers for improved healthcare delivery.

He assured that NAKOSS would continue to sensitize and create awareness amongst Student on the benefits of the scheme.

Comr. Elukpo commended the Executive Secretary of the KSHI for making the State proud, congratulated heads of institutions on the take off of the scheme.
