Gov Otu, a true democrat, lover of people, says Barr Akiba
The Special Adviser on General Duties to Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State, Barrister Ekpenyong Akiba, has given Cross Riverians the assurances of the governor’s resolve and commitment towards the continuous delivery of the dividends of democracy to their doorsteps.
Barrister Akiba stated this in his home town in Akpap Okoyong, Odukpani Local Government Area (LGA) of Cross River State during his celebration of the 2024 Democracy Day with the people in his native community.
Describing Otu as a true democrat and lover of the people, the Special Adviser on General Duties, accompanied by the Executive Secretary (ES) of the Calabar Urban Development Authority, Chief Ayi Etim Effiong, averred that Cross River was in capable hands with Governor Otu as the Captain in command of the State’s Ship.
Akiba, a young politician seen as one of the active officials playing prominent role in the current government of Cross River State, enjoined the people not to cease giving their maximum support to the Otu administration, as the governor continue to work tirelessly round the clock to transform and move the state to an enviable developmental height for the good of the citizens.
“Today we came here to assure you that our state is fast rising and rapidly improving. The only thing expected of you is total support so that our governor and those working with him can take us to that destination of greatness.
“In the spirit of democracy, the governor directed everyone to go back to their political wards and celebrate with the people at the grassroot so that everyone can feel the dividends of democracy.
“I am so excited with the warm reception you have given us, this goes to tell how much you appreciate the good works of our dear governor and we count on you to continue to give such support,” Akiba said.
Also speaking at the gathering, Chief Effiong expressed profound gratitude and appreciation to the people for their unalloyed support for the governor, vowing that democracy dividends will certainly get to all and sundry.
It was a fun-filled moment for the natives of Akpap Okoyong, who were joyous and delighted to receive Barrister Akiba and Chief Effiong as they came to celebrate Democracy Day with them. This was evident in the various cultural displays, games and many other side attractions that added glamour to the event.
