Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency Begins Removal of Posters Billboards in Lokoja.


 

Says offenders will be arrested, prosecuted if caught replacing the posters on Ganaja flyover bridge.

 

The General Manager of Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency, Hon. Richard Osaseyi says the agency as part of it mandate has begun the clean up of Lokoja with the removal of Posters and Billboards used for Political Campaigns.

 

Speaking with Newsmen at the flag off of the exercise at the Ganaja flyover bridge, said politicians have defaced the beauty of the flyover with posters, explaining that the Agency has begun the process to restore the beauty of the flyover and other parts of the City with posters that are defacing.

 

The clean up exercise Mr Osaseyi pointed out will in the coming days witnessed the removal of Posters in Lokoja township, said the efforts is part of the mandate of the Agency as established by law.

 

The General Manager used the opportunity to inform politicians in the State that based on the laws establishing the Agency, offenders will be arrested and prosecuted if caught placing defacing posters on the flyover bridge and other parts of the State Capital.

Towards forestalling the repasting of posters removed on the flyover bridge, security agencies and their men, Mr. Osaseyi explained will be deployed to the Ganaja flyover bridge from 6:00pm daily to arrest and prosecute offenders.

The General Manager used the medium to warn particularly people in government, the political class, not to deface the Flyover bridge and other infrastructure with posters, pointing out that so much money was spent by Gov. Yahaya Bello in building the infrastructure, he rather called on them to keep and sustain the beauty of the City capital.

While pointing out that it is disheartening for policy and Lawmakers to turn out to be the law breakers, said the law is clear, offenders will be arrested and prosecuted once discovered.

While pointing out that the law is clear that after 10 days of the completion of an election, the Agency is mandated to remove all posters, explained that, good enough, the majority of the poster removed by the Agency are those of the APC, insisting that it is not politically motivated.

Highlights of the clean up exercise was the removal of Posters of all politicians on the Ganaja flyover bridge by men of the Kogi State Signage and Advertisement Agency.
