A Governorship aspirant under the platform of All Progressives Congress, APC, Prof. Stephen Ocheni says he will leverage on his experience garnered ovér the years to effect positive changes in the governance of kogi state.
Prof.Ocheni stated this when he paid traditional homage to his Traditional ruler, the Etemahi Igalamele and Chairman, Igalamela-Odolu Local Government Traditional Council, Chief Abel Etuh at Ajaka to seek his fatherly blessing on his Governorship ambition.
Prof. Ocheni who commended the Traditional ruler for sustaining peace in his domain, noted that his reign has brought progress and peace.
The APC Governorship aspirant said his visit was to seek the blessings of the traditional ruler as he embarks on the Governorship race of Kogi state.
According to him, his major interest is to consolidate on the gains so far achieved by past and present administration in the State.
Responding, the Etemahi Igalamela, Chief Abel Etu described the former Minister as a worthy son who had positively impacted on the lives of his people.
He particularly commended the former Minister for the provision of skills center for the training of women and youths and the various job opportunities he provided the people of the area as well as scholarships to indigent students
While urging him to continue to seek God’s face in the race, the Etemahi noted that the area was in dare need of development and urged him not to forget the area if given the mandate by the people of Kogi state.
He warned politicians against arming youths to cause mayhem during elections, saying such actions have caused untold pains to parents.
Dignitaries in the former Minister’s entourage were APC party leaders and other political stakeholders, including a former majority leader in kogi State House of Assembly, Hon.Hassan Adakeke, APC leader in Igalamela-Odolu, Hon. Ali Ugbane and a former Chairman of the Local Government, Alhaji Ali Atabor.
