2023 KOGI STATE ASSEMBLY ELECTION: POLICE IS COMMITTED TO ENFORCEMENT ON RESTRICTIONS OF ALL VEHICULAR MOVEMENT ON ELECTION DAY: CP AYOKU WARNS


 

Ahead of the Saturday, March 18 2023 State Assembly Election in Kogi State, the Commissioner of Police in charge of Election Security: CP Yekini A. Ayoku mni in compliance with the Inspector General of Police’s directive, has ordered the restriction of all forms of vehicular movement on roads, waterways and other forms of transportation from 12am to 6pm on the Election Day, Saturday 18th March 2023.

The restriction order excludes those on essential services such as Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Officials, Electoral Observers, firefighters, ambulances and other emergency responders. This order is aimed at ensuring safety of the electorates and to provide a conducive, safe and secure environment for the conduct of 2023 State Assembly Elections.

The Commissioner of Police further reiterates the commitment and the preparedness of the Police and other sister security agencies in ensuring a peaceful and orderly conduct of the State House of Assembly Election in the state.
