Kogi State Office of the Disability Affairs has urged the Town Planning Development Board to only grant approval to public buildings that has made provision for RAMP.
The Executive Secretary, Kogi State Office of the Disability Affairs, Barr. Zacchaeus Dare Michael made the appeal in a statement, said henceforth only public buildings that made provision for RAMP should be approved.
Barr. Dare noted that it is discrimetion to persons with Disabilities for buildings to have building without RAMP. The RAMP he pointed out allows for such persons to be able to gain access.
The Executive Secretary said buildings like banks and other public and government buildings that has not made it a priority should henceforth ensure that there building plans make provision for RAMP to enable people with Disabilities access such places to do business.
The Executive Secretary described it as a misnomer in the past that has been glossed over for public buildings not to make provisional access for PWD said this has to stop.
He reiterated the commitment of KOSODA to protecting the people with disabilities, thanked Gov. Yahaya Bello for his love and the sense of belonging he has given to PWD in the State.
