2023: More Group Support Senate Ex- Chief Whip

The support group for the reelection of Senator Francis Alimikhena has swelled with the subscription of various unions to be part of “Team Alimikhena” support group.

The unions which includes Market Women, Students body, Okada riders among others, gave their endorsement of the Senator return bid following a meeting in Auchi, Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo at the weekend.

In a communique signed by the various unions: Danjuma Ganiyu (Okada Riders), Kubura Anedu (Market Women), Momoh Jato (Students) and the convener of “Team Alimikhena” Sunny Ifijen, reiterated its earlier promised to mobilise funds and Canvassers for his nomination and reelection campaig.

The communique which was made available to newsmen in Benin on Monday, however agrees that their campaign will be issue based and appeal to other politicians to eschew violence before, during and after the 2023 general elections.

Ifijen who was named the general coordinator of the support groups, said all the groups have agreed to streamlined their activities to ensure that Alimikhena is reelected for a record third term in the Red Chamber.

“It is a decision we have all taken to work together for our objective, which is to return Alimikhena to the senate, is achieved.

“In view of this, we will be working together like one united group for the realisation of this no small means task that we have set for ourselves.

“I am not actually surprised with this agreement of these unions to work with the Team Alimikhena because we have all benefitted from the various empowerment programme initiated by the Senator.

“While he gave hundreds of traders across Edo North senatorial district various sums of loans to boost their businesses, he shared motorcycles to several riders while indigent students were also not left out from his programmes.

“Like I had explained last week, the process of fund mobilisation is ongoing and canvassers have hit the various communities in the district to remind them of the various constituency projects Alimikhena has attracted to their areas since his first election in 2015,” he stated…. Continue reading
