The son of the great Akhere-Ugbesia dynasty in Esan land, Engr. Osobase Akhere-Ugbesia has joined the race of service through politics by representing the good people of Agbazilo Federal Constituency.
To actualize his noble ambition, Engr. Osobase Akhere-Ugbesia has formally declared interest to represent the people of Esan North-East/Esan South-East Federal Constituency in the National Assembly on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
Engr. Osobase Akhere-Ugbesia’s entry into the race is already generating positive reactions based on his affability and unifying personality which enables him to relate with all people irrespective of religious or ethnic affiliations and social class.
He commenced consultations with leaders and delegates of the Party across the two Local Government Areas that make up the constituency with a view to securing their support ahead of the party’s primaries slated for May 2022. Consequently, the Campaign train was at Esan South-East and Esan North-East Local Government Areas where he met with the delegates.
Engr. Akhere-Ugbesia assured the people of effective representation in the Federal House of Representatives.
According to him, “I came into the race because I desire to provide quality legislative representation to the great people of my constituency and ensure that these translate into tangible evidence of the much-needed dividends of democracy to my people. I am not in this race for self-aggrandizement”.
“We shall, God-willing, channel our efforts to making laws that will bring essential developmental interventions to the people”, he said.
The aspirant similarly applauded the efforts of past lawmakers like Dr. Tony Aziegbemin who is the current state chairman of the party, Barrister Friday Itulah and the current representative, Hon. Sergius Ogun, who have at various times represented the constituency at the Federal House of Representatives.
The aspirant passionately declares that his resolve is to take the bar higher and surpass the good works of past legislators by infusing the wisdom of experienced leaders with the insightful dynamism of diligent vitality of youth to make impactful contributions that will benefit the good people of Agbazilo.
Engr. Osobase Akhere-Ugbesia, knows that in order to effectively represent his people, astute negotiation skills and capacity for building bridges at the Federal level, are crucial in ensuring that his people get the best deal at all times. This is what he believes is quality representation. He is also completely committed to gender-friendly legislation.
