Former Governor of Kogi State, Capt. Idris Wada has called on Igala kinsmen to rally round the new Gabaidu Atah Igala, to fast track development in Igala kingdom.
Capt. Wada gave the charge during the coronation and official handing over of staff of office to Gabaidu Atah Igala, HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa at Idah, Kogi State.
He noted with satisfaction that at a time like this when the people are yiening for unity of purpose, a man of forsight has mounted on the throne to change the narrative of events in Igala kingdom.
Wada said, “We are delighted, HRM Mathew Alaji Opaluwa is mounting the throne of his forbearers 100 years after the reign of Oguche Akpa in the kingdom and so, he deserve holistic support to have a successful reign”.
An advocate of professionalism, the former Governor advised Igala people especially youth to choose a profession or learn vocational skills to take care of their family, while participating in polittics.
The former governor who stood his ground against thurgry and various social ills, laments the current state of cultism, kidnapping and terrorism within and outside the state, while admitting that everybody has his own era.
Wada explained, “Youth should be disciplined, focus and choose a profession. Do not choose polittics as profession, Politics of imposition will tosses you around to kill the opponents or anybody for your principal”.
“Everybody’s time is different. During my time, my attitude to polittics is no! to thurgry, violence, let’s everybody feel free to participate in politics, while pursuing their endeavour without harrashment or torture”.
Capt. Idris Wada therefore admonished the Igala and indeed Kogi youth to distance themselves from cultism, thuggry, kidnapping and terrorism because it will capsize them and cut their life and ambition short….. Continue reading
