Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Orhionmwon Local Government Area of Edo State, Prince Stanley Iduoze, has berated Nosa Ogieva, the Chairman of PDP Edo-South Senatorial District for spreading misinformation and causing disunity among party members in the LGA.
In a statement, Prince Iduoze said rather than being happy that the incumbent Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki is from Edo South, Nosa Ogieva has selfishly pursued his vision of being “an agent of PDP destabilization, a mercenary for the interest of those outside Edo-South and anti-developmental efforts of the Governor.”
According to him, in spite of the fact that all PDP leaders in Orhionmwon LGA and others who attended the stakeholders’ meeting where the issue of harmonization was discussed and agreement reached, the Edo-South Chairman goes about spreading misinformation to party members in the LGA to cause disunity amongst members.
He listed some of the leaders at the meeting to include Sam Aghimien, SAN; Hon. Roland Asoro, Deputy Speaker of the Edo State House of Assembly; Barr. Chris Agbonwanegbe; Hon. Nosayaba Okunbor; Lady Uwa Osunbor; Hon. Martins Erhabor; Dr. Peter Odemwingie; Festus Osaigbovo; Larry Ogieva; Newman Ugiagbe; Chris Enehikhare; Midwest Ogbebor; Ben Oghumu; Barr. Osahon Ahunwan; Eric Uhuawagho, and Hon. OsahonImaru, among others.
Prince Iduoze noted, “I commend the efforts of His Excellency, Governor Godwin Obaseki at ensuring the unity of PDP members and the growth of the party in Edo State. I am equally aware of all the efforts of the Edo-South Chairman, Mr. Nosa Ogieva to be an obstacle to the good leadership and intention of His Excellency to put the PDP on the path of prosperity in Edo State.
“We have decided and patriotically resolved to be committed to the peaceful coexistence of all PDP members in Orhionmwon LGA.”
“The recent antics and destabilizing techniques of Mr. NosaOgieva were to usurp my responsibility as the Chairman of PDP in Orhionmwon LGA when he invited the PDP ward chairmen and LGA EXCOs in Orhionmwon LGA to a clandestine meeting on the 30th of November, 2021,” he added.
The LGA chairman further stated, “Mr. Nosa Ogieva, Edo-South Chairman, under the PDP constitution has no power to call a meeting of ward chairmen/LGA executives or invite them to a political meeting without putting me on notice.
“Mr. Nosa Ogieva acted in violation of the party Constitution and deliberately undermined my authority in order to advance the inordinate ambition of his and his cohorts to personalize the ownership of PDP in Edo-South Senatorial District in particular and Edo State in general.
“On this note, I bring to the attention of all PDP members in Orhionmwon LGA that the activities of Mr. Nosa Ogieva are clearly geared towards the destabilization of PDP in the LGA. We all must collectively say no to the destabilizing antics of Mr. Nosa Ogieva.
“Finally, I thank His Excellency, Godwin Obaseki for the appointments so far made with regard to the people of Orhionmwon LGA in particular and the state in general.”
