The Oil Palm Growers Association of Nigeria Kogi State chapter says enough is enough for the importation of Palm Oil into Nigeria.
The Association in a statement signed by Mr Yakubu Oche, the State Chairman and Dr Okpanachi Maji, Secretary, issued
after a meeting in Lokoja, said it is pushing for the sustainable growth of Oil palm trees in Nigeria.
The Association said the push to stop the importation of palm is a program with the support from CBN, NIFOR, FGN Agricultural Ministry and other critical stakeholders.
The Association said said the country has no business in the importation of Palm oil, lamented that the country has all it takes to be a exporter of of palm oil.
The Industry if well harness will provide employment and means of livilihood for the country’s terming unemployed youths.
The decision to make palm oil production a mainstay is part of the outcome of the association meeting held in Lokoja at the weekend.
