.. Present him with Award of Excellence as worthy ambassador
The Old Boys of Saint Charles College Ankpa today gathered to celebrate one of their own, Pastor Emmanuel Idenyi, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology for making them proud.
The Old Boys gathered at the NUJ Press Centre, to honour the permanent Secretary with an award of Excellence, described him as a goal getter and a man of impeccable character.
Speaking after receiving the Award, Pastor Idenyi described the award as a surprised, said he never knew that he was being watched from afar by the old boys in his efforts in making the society better.
While reflecting on what has made him stand out over the years, Idenyi disclosed that the motor of his former Alma mater We Shall Overcome was his staying power assured that the award would serve as a tonic for him to be diligent and to render more service to humanity.
He disclosed that for the present Educational system to compete favourably with what was obtained in the past, called for greater discipline, revitalizing decayed Infrastructure and more commitment on the part of the students and teachers.
The Permanent Secretary described Saint Charles College Ankpa as an institution that modelled him to becoming what he is today, said he learnt patient, perseverance and diligence as a way of life from the College.
Idenyi however expressed optimism that with the ongoing efforts of Gov Yahaya Bello in revitalizing the Education Sector in the State, the state would once again occupy its pride of place in Nigeria.
He commended Gov. Bello for the high budgetary provision to the Education Sector in the last few years, pointing out that all that is needed is support from the Educational stakeholders to make the dream and vision of the present administration realizable.
The Permanent Secretary, described the present Commissioner of Education, Science and Technology, Hon Wemi Jones as a square peg in a square hole, commended him for his passion in helping to implement the vision of Gov. Yahaya Bello.
Various old boys of the College who spoke separately, eulogized the Permanent Secretary, described him as a pillar of encouragement for other old boys in holding on to impeccable character while holding Public Office.
