Kogi PDP chieftain, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim has called on his teeming supporters and Kogites in general that are not yet registered voters, to turn out in large numbers and get register in the ongoing INEC continuous voters registration exercise.
He made this call while reacting to the commencement of the announcement of the INEC continuous voters registration exercise.
In a statement made available by his media office on Friday, the Ochada onu’ife and Jakadan Wazirin Sokoto said all the complaints about bad governance in the country since APC took power may amount to nothing if especially those who are not yet registered voters don’t register to become voters, as the zeal to enthrone good governance in a democracy still lies only with the power of the ballot.
“There is no other way to enthrone the leadership we desire as a democracy if at first we are not even registered voters. It is therefore incumbent upon us to ensure we mobilise ourselves and sensitise those around us in our various communities, who are not registered voters yet to seize this opportunity of the ongoing INEC continuous voters registration exercise and get registered to become voters ahead of forthcoming elections.
“I make this appeal in the strongest sense of it, knowing fully well that we all as a people, having seen all the APC has to offer thus far since it took power, agree therefore that there is a deficit of leadership in the country and in our dear Kogi state.
“Hence I very specially enjoin fellow Kogites across the 21 Local Governments of the State that are not registered voters yet to try and ensure they come out and register. This is as the joint task to birth the Kogi of our dreams in 2023 begins with this process,” the Kogi PDP stalwart said.
