While canvasing for votes during the 2015 and 2019 governorship elections, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello based his campaign on a four-based tripod; the Peoples’ Infrastructure, Economy, Security and Education, respectively. Since assumption of office in five years, he has strived to achieve this tripod.
Today, within five years of mounting the saddle of leadership, Kogi State is better off for it. The capital, Lokoja Town, alone is now a showpiece as all roads have been tarred and linked up, just as new ones are being connected. This is aside the hundreds of roads that have been awarded for construction across the state, with priority been accorded to communities that have not experienced the impact of government for long.
Moreso, though his human empowerment programs, the youths have not only found succor in life but presently are earning decent and sustainable livelihood. Governor Yahaya Bello’s fastidiousness, hard work and eagerness to deliver with dexterity within the expected margins of objective parameters, makes him one of the highly performing governors in the country as at today, going by the analytical evaluations by the public commentators.
A look into his leadership style reveals one thing and that is Governor Yahaya Bello’s programmes and policies which are mass-driven.
Before the divined emergence of Governor Yahaya Bello in 2015, there was existence of mutual suspicion, tribal sentiments and indifference among the diverse ethnic groups in the state but today the issue of tribal sentiments has been completely buried and thrown out to dogs.
Interestingly, Governor Yahaya Bello has also demystified governance by what he has been able to accomplish. He has transformed the Confluence state to infrastructural development.
While I pray God to grant Governor Yahaya Bello and his government, the spiral strength and enormous wisdom to live up to the expectations of the good people of Kogi state, in the area of infrastructural and human development, I wish him long life and good health.
