The Chairman of Dei-Dei International Timber Traders Association (DITTA), Federal Capital Territory Abuja, Mr Chibuzor Ekesiy has Called on Nigerians to adhere strictly to the Nigeria’s Centre for disease Control (NCDC), Covid-19 protocol to averts another lockdown.
Mr Chibuzo who spoke with the Nigeriapost Newspaper recently, said that, it was already a fact that there were many deaths in 2021 arising from Covid-19 related cases which has authenticated the reality of the deadly pandemic and as such, proactive measures must be taken to Contain it spread if we must live healthy and averts another lockdown which brought untold hardship to the poor masses last year,2020.
He warned adding that the only way to avoid a reoccurrence was strict compliance to the NCDC protocol. According to him, he had held several meetings with the Board of trustee(BOT), Members of the Association and the internal taskforce has been reawakened to ensure and enforce total compliance to the safety measures ,Saying that the market which has over ten entry points has a washing hands basin and detergent at each entry point and all the shops has a sanitizer for personal and customers use.
The social distancing was an established tradition as a result of the nature of the business transaction which doesn’t involved crowd like food stuff markets which is usually characterized with large crowd.
On that of nose masks, the internal taskforce instituted by the Association with its mandate of ensuing the mandatory use of nose masks are doing a very good job he stressed.
Mr Chibuzor further called on the federal capital territory (fct),Authority to help construct roads in the market,to ease the entry and exits of goods,saying that current state of the roads within the market pose great hardship to traders, as a result of the of the deplorable state of the roads.
