Kogi PDP Chairman, Hon. Muhammed Sani Gambo, Congratulates George Turnah On Appeal Court Victory As Authentic PDP Chairman In Bayelsa
Lokoja – The State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Kogi State, Hon. Muhammed Sani Gambo, has congratulated Hon. George Turnah on his resounding victory at the Court of Appeal, which affirmed him as the authentic Chairman of the PDP in Bayelsa State.
In a congratulatory message issued in Lokoja on Wednesday, Hon. Gambo described the judgment as a victory for truth, justice, due process and internal democracy within the PDP.
The Court of Appeal, in its ruling, dismissed the appeal filed by the PDP Board of Trustees faction aligned with Tanimu Turaki and upheld the earlier ruling of the Federal High Court.
The Appellate Court described the suit as academic and an abuse of the court process, and ordered the appellants to pay ₦5 million each as costs to Abdulrahman, Anyanwu, George Turnah, and others.
Hon. Gambo said the judgment has finally put to rest the unnecessary legal distractions and affirmed what party members in Bayelsa have always known, that the leadership of George Turnah is legitimate, popular and constitutionally grounded.
“On behalf of the State Working Committee, the State Executive Committee, leaders, elders and the entire members of the PDP in Kogi State, I heartily felicitate with my brother and colleague, Hon. George Turnah, on this landmark victory. The Court of Appeal has spoken clearly. Justice has prevailed,” Gambo stated.
He noted that Turnah’s resilience, loyalty to the party and commitment to the rule of law throughout the legal battle is worthy of emulation by all PDP leaders across the country.
According to the Kogi PDP Chairman, the judgment is not just a personal victory for Turnah, but a victory for the PDP family in Bayelsa and Nigeria as a whole, as it reinforces confidence in the judiciary and strengthens the party’s resolve to reclaim its rightful place in the nation’s democracy.
Hon. Gambo also rejoiced with the Bayelsa State PDP family and urged them to celebrate the victory in peace and unity, as preparations are underway for a victory celebration at the Party Secretariat in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State, from 5pm today.
He prayed for wisdom, strength and divine guidance for Hon. Turnah as he continues to pilot the affairs of the party in Bayelsa State towards greater unity, mobilization and electoral success.
