The founder and grand Patron of PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for re-election in 2027, insisting that the President deserves another four-year term to consolidate the reforms initiated by his administration.

Tompolo made his position known on Tuesday during the inauguration of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Imo State, where he donated 30 vehicles to facilitate grassroots mobilisation and support Tinubu’s re-election campaign.

Represented at the event by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited, Chief Kestin Pondi, Tompolo said the vehicles, alongside other resources, were provided to support Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, and strengthen the movement’s campaign activities across the state.

He described Tinubu as a courageous leader who placed national interest above personal and political considerations, noting that the President embarked on economic reforms immediately after assuming office in May 2023.

“Our President, President Bola Tinubu, is a very courageous man. A man who puts Nigeria first. A man who loves Nigeria more than he loves himself.

“A man who loves Nigeria more than the office that he is vying for. When he came into office, he did not do the normal calculations that politicians usually do. He came in and said that he wants to reform Nigeria,” Tompolo said.

Delivering Tompolo’s message, Pondi told the governor that the delegation had brought vehicles and other resources to strengthen the campaign for Tinubu’s return to office.

“Your Excellency, we have come with vehicles. We have come with resources. These vehicles you have seen, there are 30 of them. We brought them to Imo State to support you in your cause to re-elect President Bola Tinubu,” he said.

Pondi explained that the movement would collaborate with Uzodimma and other political stakeholders to extend the President’s campaign to households and communities across Imo State.

He added that the newly inaugurated state chapter was prepared to support the governor’s campaign efforts whenever its services were required.

“Your Excellency, the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement in Imo State is at your beck and call. Anytime you need them, call them. Give them instructions. Tell them how you want them to campaign,” Pondi said.

In his remarks, the governor of imo state, Hope Uzodimma expressed appreciation to Tompolo for providing logistical and material support for the re-election campaign, describing the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement as a strategic partner in the drive to secure another term for Tinubu.

The governor said his evaluation of the President’s performance since assuming office had strengthened his conviction that Tinubu should be re-elected to complete the programmes and reforms of his administration.

“When we preach the Gospel about the All Progressives Congress government of President Bola Tinubu, we started, we were not many. But as the days go by, the efforts and activities of the government begin to trickle in. Nigerians begin to see the man called Bola Tinubu in his true colour,” he said.

Uzodimma acknowledged that while the Tinubu administration had recorded some achievements, several areas still required attention, arguing that a second term would give the President the opportunity to complete the work already underway.

He said his decision to support Tinubu’s re-election was based on an assessment of both the administration’s accomplishments and the programmes yet to be completed.

“We have assessed the achievements of President Bola Tinubu. And we have seen the good things he brought. We have also seen so many things he is also yet to do.

“And we decided to lead the crusade that will enable him to complete his good work. We have taken that decision,” the governor said.

Uzodimma also commended Tompolo for the resources and support he had committed to advancing the President’s re-election campaign, describing his contributions as significant to the mobilisation effort.

He further endorsed the door-to-door campaign strategy, saying it would provide an opportunity for campaigners to explain the achievements of the Renewed Hope Agenda directly to Nigerians at the grassroots.

“We are partners in progress. We work with you. We do the work. We elect the President,” he said.

Earlier, the National Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement, Sunday Asuku, appealed to Nigerians to exercise patience with the Tinubu administration, maintaining that the economic difficulties associated with its reform policies would eventually yield long-term benefits.

Asuku said the President had spent the past three and a half years laying the groundwork for economic development and deserved another four years to consolidate the foundation already established.

“The message we must tell today is simple and short. Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, has sent us to make you understand that things might be rough, but Nigeria is on the right trajectory,” he said.

He argued that economic reforms were often accompanied by temporary hardship but maintained that such difficulties were necessary to achieve sustainable growth and lasting prosperity.

“Where there is reform, we are expected to go through some pains. But it is a pain that guarantees long-term prosperity. And we can get through for sure,” Asuku said.

The national coordinator also challenged opposition politicians to account for their performances while in public office, urging voters to scrutinise their records before deciding who to support in the next presidential election.

Asuku called on Nigerians to come out in large numbers on January 16, 2027, to vote for Tinubu, assuring them that the movement would intensify its grassroots engagement by taking the campaign from door to door, town to town and community to community.

Also speaking, the Imo State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Chief Austine Onyedebelu, highlighted the economic reforms introduced by the Federal Government and infrastructure projects being implemented by the state government.

He urged APC members and supporters to take the campaign directly to residents, stressing the importance of grassroots engagement in communicating the administration’s policies and achievements.

Onyedebelu listed the removal of the petrol subsidy, foreign exchange reforms, the establishment of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) and the increase in the national minimum wage to ₦70,000 as some of the measures introduced by the Tinubu administration.
