Ex-Gov Idris Governed With Fear Of God, Maturity and Prudence – Former Deputy Gov, Phillips Salawu Mourns His Boss

I join the good people of Kogi State and Nigeria at large in mourning the passing of my boss, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, CON, former Governor of Kogi State who led our state with distinction from 2003 to 2012 for a period of almost nine years.
I had the rare privilege of serving under him as Deputy Governor of Kogi State from May 29, 2003 to January 27, 2012.
Throughout our tenure, we maintained a cordial, respectful and brotherly relationship built on mutual trust, loyalty and shared commitment to the progress of Kogi State.
My Boss was a leader with the fear of God at heart. He governed the state with maturity, sensitivity, sensibility, prudence, decency, modesty and a high sense of responsibility. He was a man of peace who united Kogi State and made every Kogite feel a sense of belonging.
The demise of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is a huge loss not only to his immediate family but to the entire Igala Kingdom, Kogi State and Nigeria at large.
On behalf of myself, my family and my political associates, I extend my heartfelt condolences to the immediate family of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the Igala Kingdom, and to the Government and people of Kogi State.
May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace, Amen.
Signed:
Phillips O. Salawu, Esq., PhD, FCA
Former Deputy Governor of Kogi State (2003-2012)
