The Honourable Commissioner for Finance, Budget and Economic Planning, Kogi State, Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of a former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, describing his death as a profound loss to the people of Kogi State and Nigeria.
Mukadam Asiru Idris, in a condolence message, described the late former Governor as an eminent Kogite and distinguished public servant who devoted a significant part of his life to the service of the people and the development of the state.
He noted that Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, who served as Governor of Kogi State from 2003 to 2011, presided over a significant period in the state’s developmental journey, with notable interventions in infrastructure, education, healthcare and other critical sectors.
According to him, beyond the projects and policies associated with his administration, the late former Governor would be remembered for his commitment to public service and the responsibilities entrusted to him by the people.
> *”The passing of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is a painful loss to Kogi State. He was a prominent son of the state whose years of service contributed to the political and developmental history of Kogi. His contributions and the memories of his service will remain with us for years to come.”*
The Commissioner extended his heartfelt condolences to the Idris family, friends, associates and the people of Kogi State, praying that Almighty Allah forgives the shortcomings of the deceased, grants him Aljannatul Firdaus, and gives his family and loved ones the fortitude to bear the loss.
May Allah grant the late Alhaji Ibrahim Idris eternal rest and comfort all those he left behind.
