Your Demise Came As A Rude Shock, Your Legacies Of Building Leaders Like Me Lives On – Ex-Commissioner Suru Mourns Gov Idris

Former Commissioner for Solid Mineral Development in Kogi State, Bamidele Olusanya Suru Esq., MCiarb (UK), has mourned the passing of former Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, CON.

In an emotion-laden tribute, Suru, who served under Idris from 2003 to 2006, said the news of his former principal’s death came to him as a rude shock.

“My Excellency, the news of your demise came as a rude shock. The legacy you left behind in building a virile human resource base in leadership cannot be compared, and of which I am a proud beneficiary, lives on.

You instilled in us the fear of God in governance and the spirit of honesty, integrity and service to humanity. You built people, you built leaders, and you believed in us even when many doubted us.

I send my heartfelt condolences to your immediate family and the entire Ibro family, of which I remain a profound beneficiary.

Rest in peace, My Excellency. Your ‘Solid Solid’ – the name you always fondly called me in meetings – prays that Almighty Allah grants you Aljanatul Firdaus,” he said.
