By joshua NOW THAT THE LOKOJA TOWN HALL IS OVER, KARIMI OUTLINES WATER, EDUCATION PROJECTS AND ‘WIN WITH TINUBU’ GRASSROOTS DRIVE

Now that the Lokoja Town Hall meeting has ended, the handshakes and photographs have faded. What remains is what Senator Sunday Karimi told the people, and it points to a clear focus on service delivery and grassroots mobilisation for the Kogi State capital and Lokoja/Koton Karfe Federal Constituency.
Speaking at the gathering, Senator Karimi opened with a statement of identity and responsibility.
“I have not come to tell stories, but to seek the prayers of Your Royal Highness, as I consider myself a bonafide indigene of Lokoja, based on my relationship with and investments in the city,” he said.
He followed it with a declaration on the status of the state capital: “Lokoja is a state capital and should be seen and treated as one!”
The Senator detailed measurable steps already taken to address critical needs in Lokoja. Responding to water challenges in the city, he said over 20 solar-powered boreholes have been constructed. During the fasting period, water tankers were also deployed to distribute water to residents.
Karimi further announced that 5 additional solar-powered Boreholes will commence construction next week. Locations have already been provided and completion is expected within a month.
In the education sector, he disclosed that he facilitated the construction of a standard CBT centre in this year’s budget* for Lokoja, to be sited at Muslim Community Secondary School. He pledged to ensure its delivery.
“Representation should be measurable. People should be able to point to something. A borehole. A road. A school. A health facility. A CBT centre. An intervention. Something tangible,” Karimi stated.
A major highlight of the Town Hall was Karimi’s presentation of the ‘Win With Tinubu’ initiative. According to him, the project is designed to support His Excellency, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo to deliver Kogi State for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu across all 239 wards of the state — 97 in Kogi East, 85 in Kogi West and 57 in Kogi Central.
He explained that the goal is not just posters and rallies, but grassroots engagement to explain the works and policies of the President so that “the party can win and win very well.”
In a move aimed at strengthening party unity, Karimi said the management of the Win With Tinubu team will meet with Governor Ododo, who is the leader of the party in the state, _“for him to know officially what we are doing, and for everyone to also know that we are not in conflict with the party and not see us as coup plotters.”
The initiative also includes a *bursary program* in collaboration with Win With Tinubu, linking political mobilisation to direct support for students.
For Senator Karimi, the message from Lokoja was clear: connect representation to development. From water supply and education infrastructure to ward-level mobilisation, he said the objective remains to support good governance under President Tinubu and Governor Ododo and to take Kogi to the next level.
“Different strategies do not necessarily mean different destinations,” he noted. “The destination is to deliver President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the candidates of the All Progressives Congress under the leadership of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo in Kogi State.”
As residents of Lokoja and Koton Karfe assess the outcomes of the Town Hall, the focus has shifted from political noise to projects on the ground and plans for the wards.
Win With Tinubu. Reach the grassroots. Work within the party structure. Support good governance. Deliver for the people.
That, Senator Karimi says, is the direction for tomorrow.
