By joshua Ossiomo Power Company Accuses CCETC Of Attempting To Circumvent Court Litigation Through CAC

The Ossiomo Power Company, Ologbo in Edo State, has raised an alarm over what it described as an attempt by a Chinese firm, CCETC to undermine the ongoing legal proceedings at the Federal High Court, Abuja, through an alleged fictitious petition filed with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC).
In a statement issued by the management of Ossiomo Power Company in Benin City, the company alleged that CCETC made spurious claims to the CAC regarding its wholly-owned Project Company, “COPC”, despite the fact that the matter is pending in a federal high court sitting in Abuja.
According to the Ossiomo Power Company, on 28th July 2026, COPC received an email from the Compliance Department of the CAC, with a letter dated 19th June, 2026. The letter referenced a petition submitted by Jiangsu/CCETC on 3rd June 2026, bordering on the removal of directors and divestment of shares, and asked COPC to respond within seven days.
The company noted that although the CAC letter was dated June 19, it was only delivered to it on July 28, 2026, and it was promptly responded to, even though COPC was not provided with a copy of the purported CCETC letter.
The Ossiomo Power Company further noted that “the issues raised in the CAC’s correspondence are already the subject of litigation pending before the Federal High Court, Abuja in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/2025, instituted by CCETC itself in October 2025”.
The company added that the CAC is a party to the suit and has filed a preliminary objection challenging its joinder and the basis of CCETC’s claims. “The objection is yet to be determined” the Ossiomo Power Company, stated.
The company further alleged that the fresh development amounted to a breach of existing court orders directing all parties, including CCETC and the CAC, to maintain the “status quo”.
The statement added that “this is another desperate attempt by CCETC to abuse the court process and subvert the course of justice.”.
The company said the press statement was issued to place the matter on record and to highlight the timing of the CAC’s correspondence within the context of the pending proceedings.
Ossiomo reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the dispute through appropriate legal and regulatory channels, and pledged its continued respect for the judicial process.
Meanwhile, the management of Ossiomo Industrial Park, has raised an alarm over the illegal dredging of sand in commercial quantities from its land situated in Ologbo, Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State.
The company disclosed that the quantity of sand stolen from its land is estimated to be over #782 million, noting that investigation is still ongoing to unmask those responsible for the illegal and criminal act, and make them face the wrath of the law.
