2027: Kogi South-South Residents Drum Support For Tinubu, Ododo, Support 4 FUL Students, Empower Women

In a bid to drum support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, residents from the South-South in Kogi State have supported four students of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) with cash to aid their resumption.

The gesture was disclosed by the President of South-South States in Kogi and Special Adviser on South-South Mobilization, Abu Michael, during a working advocacy visit on Sunday to the Ofure Multipurpose Cooperative Women Society Limited in Lokoja.
The women in the Cooperative Society are residents and voters of polling units at Women Affairs, Lokongoma Primary School, Bell View, Fortune School and Phase 1 Lokongoma.
Speaking during the visit, Abu Michael said the support of the Ofure Multipurpose Cooperative Women Society Limited in galvanizing support for Governor Ododo and the All Progressives Congress (APC) is commendable and worthy of emulation.
He noted that the self-help effort of the women in sponsoring the academic pursuit of 9 students of the Federal University Lokoja underscores the spirit of communal support which the Ododo administration has been promoting.
“Development is collective and should not be left in the hands of government alone. Your objectives have proven that with little support, you will do more in community development,” he said.
The Special Adviser promised to link the Cooperative Society with the leadership of Ward A, Zone C axis for further support through several empowerment programmes about to begin under the NG-CARES Programme.
He urged other associations in the area to emulate the Ofure Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society and announced that, in recognition of the group’s efforts to empower women across the state, his office has offered three slots to empower women in the cooperative who are into small-scale businesses.
He further urged the group to sustain its support for the APC-led administration of Governor Ododo to ensure overwhelming victory in the 2027 general elections.
He praised the cooperative for its multisectoral approach in providing skills to women, describing Governor Ododo’s administration as one that has given women a veritable place in inclusive governance and has also given South-South residents in the state a pride of place.
“The only way to reward this gesture is to ensure that President Tinubu and Governor Ododo win overwhelmingly in the 2027 general elections,” he added.
In her remarks, the Chairperson of Ofure Women Multipurpose Cooperative Society, Mrs. Rita Thomas, said the cooperative is made up of women cutting across tribes and states. She reiterated the resolve of the women to continue supporting the administration of Governor Usman Ahmed Ododo and promised to vote for the re-election of the APC-led administration and all its candidates in the 2027 general elections.
