The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ajaokuta Local Government Area recorded a major political boost following the defection of thousands of supporters into the party during a grand reception held in Upaja/Ichuwa Ward, as party faithful also reaffirmed their support for the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Rt. Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem, and other APC candidates ahead of the incoming election.
The event witnessed formal reception of thousands decampees into the APC, further consolidating Upaja/Ichuwa Ward’s reputation as one of the party’s strongest political bases in Ajaokuta LGA.
Speaking on behalf of the new entrants, the defectors attributed their decision to the APC’s development-driven agenda, citing the visible infrastructural and socioeconomic projects of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo across Ajaokuta, the people-oriented representation of Rt. Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem at the National Assembly, and the progressive leadership philosophy of the APC.
Receiving the defectors, Rt. Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem described their decision as a vote of confidence in the achievements of the APC-led governments at both the state and federal levels. He assured them that the party operates as one united family where every committed member enjoys equal opportunities and recognition.
The Ajaokuta federal lawmaker highlighted several interventions attracted to Ajaokuta Federal Constituency, including rural electrification projects, solar streetlights, boreholes, educational support programmes, youth and women empowerment initiatives, healthcare interventions, agricultural support schemes, and other constituency projects aimed at improving the welfare of the people.
Hon Sanni Egidi also commended Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for accelerating infrastructure development across Kogi State through road construction, improved healthcare delivery, agricultural transformation, youth empowerment, and investments designed to stimulate economic growth and job creation.
In a related development, APC leaders, stakeholders, women groups, youths, and supporters converged at the Patesi/Abodu Ward Rally, where a mammoth crowd reaffirmed its commitment to the party and its leadership.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering amid chants and campaign songs, Rt. Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem called on party members to remain united and steadfast in their support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s continuity in office, and the aspiration of former Governor Yahaya Bello to represent Kogi Central Senatorial District in the Senate.
The gathering also endorsed Rt. Hon. Sanni Egidi Abdulraheem for another term in the House of Representatives, Hon. Aliyu Mustapha for the State House of Assembly, and Hon. Haruna Muhammed for Chairman of Ajaokuta Local Government Area.
The lawmaker urged party members to sustain the APC’s winning culture through grassroots mobilization, peaceful campaigns, and loyalty to the party.
According to the lawmaker, the enduring political legacy of former Governor Yahaya Bello, the developmental strides of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, and the national reforms being pursued under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu provide a strong foundation for the party’s continued electoral success.
The rally concluded with renewed pledges of unity & loyalty to the ruling All Progressives Congress.
