By joshua “TECHNOCRAT, SERVANT, DIFFERENCE-MAKER”: CNNPF HAILS KOGI AUDITOR GENERAL YY OKALA OVER MASSIVE EMPOWERMENT IN DEKINA LGA
The Christian Northern Nigeria Progressive Forum, CNNPF, has commended the Auditor General of Kogi State, Alh. Yakubu Yinusa Okala, for exemplary leadership, transparency, and what it described as an “unprecedented” empowerment initiative in Dekina Local Government Area.
In a press statement signed by its National Chairman, Elder Hon. Ibrahim Gabriel Itodo, CNNPF said Okala represents the kind of leadership responsible for the growing support for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Igala Kingdom.
The Forum described the Auditor General as a humble and diligent public servant who mirrors the leadership style of Governor Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo.
“YY Okala mirrors the leadership philosophy of his principal, His Excellency Alh. Usman Ahmed Ododo, the Servant Leader of Kogi State. He has chosen service over self, and people over protocol. That is why the masses can relate with him and that is why APC is growing in Igala Kingdom,” the statement read.
CNNPF specifically applauded the wife of the Auditor General for spearheading a grassroots empowerment drive in Dekina that targeted widows, youths, women groups, and vulnerable families.
“This is an unprecedented gesture. It is not politics of camera or noise. It is service to the poorest of the poor – those who cannot repay you. In a time of economic hardship, this intervention has put food on tables, given starter packs to women, and restored hope to many homes in Dekina,” CNNPF stated.
The Forum said such direct impact is what governance should look like and has earned the Okala family “a permanent place in the hearts of Dekina people.”
Describing Okala as “a technocrat transformed politician with a difference,” CNNPF noted that his office serves as the watchdog of public funds in Kogi State.
“He has brought quality addition, character, and sincerity to public service. His office is the watchdog of public funds, and under his watch, the principles of transparency and accountability have been upheld. In an era where people are losing faith in government, Okala’s conduct proves that APC can produce leaders with integrity,” the statement added.
According to CNNPF, the rising support for APC in Kogi East is tied to visible performance by leaders like Okala.
“People follow performance. When leaders show that APC means jobs, empowerment, accountability, and service to the people, the people respond. Auditor General Okala is one of those shining examples making the case for APC in Kogi East,” the Forum said.
CNNPF prayed for God’s guidance upon the Auditor General and his family, and urged other public office holders to emulate his blend of competence, humility, and grassroots connection.
“Kogi State needs more of such leaders. Leaders who audit government resources by day and audit poverty in their communities by night. That is the APC we believe in. That is the Renewed Hope we preach,” CNNPF concluded.
