They maintained that the decision has strengthened unity within the APC and provided a clearer direction for the party’s campaign ahead of the 2027 elections.

Across Kabba/Bunu, Ijumu, Yagba East, Yagba West, Mopamuro, Lokoja, and Kogi Local Government Areas, party members have continued to express optimism that Senator Karimi’s candidature will further consolidate the APC’s electoral strength. Many supporters believe that his experience in legislative service, accessibility to constituents, and numerous constituency intervention projects have earned him widespread acceptance throughout the district.

Residents and stakeholders have pointed to several initiatives associated with Senator Karimi’s representation, including empowerment programmes, educational support, infrastructure interventions, water projects, security initiatives, and various developmental efforts aimed at improving the welfare of the people. They argued that these achievements have strengthened public confidence in his leadership and increased calls for his return to the National Assembly.

Several APC leaders have also appealed to party members and supporters to close ranks and work together in the interest of the party. They emphasized that unity, peaceful coexistence, and grassroots mobilization remain essential to ensuring a convincing victory for the APC in Kogi West and for other party candidates during the 2027 general elections.

They maintained that a united APC would be well-positioned to retain the Kogi West Senatorial seat while contributing significantly to the party’s overall success in Kogi State.

As preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum, supporters have pledged to intensify consultations, mobilization, and community outreach across the district, expressing confidence that Senator Sunday Steve Karimi remains well positioned to secure another mandate to continue representing the people of Kogi West Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
