Senator Sunday Karimi has announced the official receipt of the acknowledgement letter of recognition from the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, confirming him as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election.

In a statement issued on Monday, the Senator described the development as an answered prayer and an affirmation of the will of the people.

“To God be the glory! I wish to announce the official receipt of the acknowledgement letter of recognition from INEC, confirming me as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election,” he said.

Sen. Karimi called for unity across party lines, stressing that the contest is over and the focus must now shift to consolidation and victory for the party.

“Like I earlier said, no Victor and no Vanquished! This victory belongs to all of us, including non-APC members. However, this is the time for rebuilding relationships and working together as a formidable unit for the task ahead to deliver victory for Mr. President and all the APC candidates,” he stated.

The Kogi West lawmaker said he remains committed to inclusive representation and is ready to work with all stakeholders irrespective of political affiliation.

“I am for everyone and I am ready to work with everybody. I am humbled and grateful to God and all lovers of democracy, particularly in Kogi West, for your trust, solidarity, and support,” Sen. Karimi added.

The INEC recognition formally positions Sen. Karimi as the APC flagbearer for Kogi West as preparations intensify for the 2027 general elections.
