Senator Sunday Karimi has announced the receipt of an acknowledgement letter from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), confirming the submission and recognition of his candidacy as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Kogi West Senatorial District in the 2027 general election.
In a post shared on his social media page, Karimi expressed gratitude to God for the development, describing it as a victory for all supporters rather than an individual triumph.
“I wish to announce the official receipt of the acknowledgement letter of recognition from INEC, confirming me as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Kogi West Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general election,” he wrote.
The senator reiterated his earlier position that the party’s primary election produced “no victor and no vanquished,” stressing that the outcome should serve as a rallying point for party members and supporters.
According to him, the time has come to rebuild relationships and work together as a united force to secure victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and all APC candidates in the forthcoming general elections.
Karimi also pledged to operate an inclusive leadership style, saying he remained committed to working with all stakeholders, including those who did not support his aspiration during the party’s nomination process.
A screenshot accompanying the post showed an INEC acknowledgement indicating that his candidate profile for the APC senatorial ticket in Kogi State had been successfully submitted on Saturday, July 11, 2026, while noting that it was a temporary acknowledgement pending further processes.
The development comes amid ongoing political realignments within the APC in Kogi West as preparations gather momentum for the 2027 general elections.
