Hon. Umar Yahaya ‘Connect’ Clinches APC Omala House of Assembly Ticket Unopposed for 2027

Hon. Umar Yahaya, popularly known as “Connect,” has emerged as the All Progressives Congress candidate for Omala State Constituency after securing 4,667 votes in the party’s direct primary held on Wednesday, 20th May 2026.

The sole aspirant swept all eleven wards of Omala Local Government Area, a result party leaders said reflects strong confidence in his leadership and record of representation.

Speaking after the exercise, Yahaya thanked God and acknowledged the support of Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, Deputy Governor Joel Salifu, APC Zonal Chairman Alh. Y.Y. Okala, Omala LGA Chairman, the Commissioner for Transportation, party executives, stakeholders, youth groups, and constituents across the constituency. He also commended the 21 aspirants who stepped down in his favor and appreciated INEC officials, the DSS, and security agencies for ensuring a peaceful and credible process.

Yahaya reaffirmed his commitment to quality representation and continuity, pledging to advance development and address the needs of Omala State Constituency ahead of the 2027 general elections.
