
Senator Ani Wins Ebonyi South APC Senatorial Primary Election.

The Senator representing Ebonyi South zone in the National Assembly Professor Anthony Okorie Ani has secured APC primary election return ticket ahead of the 2027 general election.
Speaking to journalists shortly at Enuagu primary in Onticha local government Area after securing victory, Prof. Ani commended people of the zone for their massive support, saying the large turnout in the exercise reflected the confidence the constituents have in his representation since he assumed office on 13th February 2024.
According him “You can see the massive turnout. That shows you how our people love me,” he said. “They have shown solidarity, brotherliness, and they have shown that at all times, they will support me.”
The senator also described the APC as a party of order and unity where members speak with one voice on key issues maintaining that his focus in the Senate had been on legislative duties, such as moving motions and presenting bills in the Red Chamber.
Speaking on his achievements, Prof. Ani said he had facilitated employment for more than 40 constituents into different federal agencies since assumption of office, stressing that his office had carried out renovations of schools and health centres, and installation of solar lights in several villages across the district.
According to him, many other projects are at advanced stages and are expected to be completed and put to use by September.
On appointments, he said he had maintained a steady pace of securing opportunities for the people. “Since I entered on 13th February 2024, I have never stayed four months without securing one appointment or the other for my people,” he stated.
He urged constituents to sustain their support through prayer and trust. “My message is for you to continue to have hope, continue to have faith in me, trust my ability, and pray for me. Prayer is a key to every success anyone can enjoy in this life,” he said.
Also speaking at the voting center, Dr. Kama Nkemkanma, member representing Ohanivo Federal Constituency, attributed the peaceful conduct of the exercise to the leadership ingenuity of Governor Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru, sating that his approach had ensured order across the zone, and beyond.
The lawmaker expressed optimism that Professor Ani’s re-election would consolidate ongoing development in Ebonyi South.
