
Ebira Students Honour Commissioner Bashiru Gegu, Urge Politicians to Emulate His Youth-Focused Leadership

The leadership and members of the National Association of Ebira Students (NAES), Kogi State Polytechnic Chapter, have called on politicians to emulate the sterling qualities of the Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu.
The students made the call during a courtesy visit to the Commissioner in Lokoja, where they conferred on him an Award of Excellence for his service to humanity and his contributions to youth and student development across Kogi State.
Receiving the award, Engr. Gegu said he was deeply humbled by the recognition and thanked the NAES KSP Chapter for the encouragement. He reaffirmed that investing in young people would remain his priority.
The Commissioner donated ₦1 million to the association and urged the students to stay focused on their studies, shun social vices, and continue to be worthy ambassadors of Ebira land and Kogi State.
He also expressed appreciation to Abdulazeez Arikora, the OHINOYI of NAES KSP Chapter, for his kind words and prayers, adding, “Together, we keep building the future.”
“Service to humanity is service to God,” Engr. Gegu said.
