Karimi Backers Hail Him as ‘Child of Destiny’ Amid Re-Election Bid

Supporters of the senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Senator Sunday Steven Karimi, have described him as a “child of destiny” following what they termed his victory over challenges surrounding his second-term bid.
The supporters, in a statement signed by their chairman, Comrade Toba Emmanuel, and made available to journalists in Lokoja on Tuesday, said the senator had overcome several political hurdles allegedly placed before him.
According to the statement, efforts by some political actors within the All Progressives Congress (APC) to frustrate Karimi’s re-election ambition were unsuccessful.
“After all the obstacles, Senator Karimi emerged victorious, confirming that he is truly a child of destiny,” the statement read.
The group alleged that some political foot soldiers, threats and certain APC local government executives were mobilised to block the senator’s second-term aspiration.
It further claimed that some party leaders attempted to anoint a preferred candidate for the Kogi West senatorial seat ahead of the 2027 elections.
“No one can impose a candidate on the people of Kogi West Senatorial District,” the statement added.
The supporters called on Karimi’s loyalists across the district to remain united and committed, expressing confidence that the electorate would determine the district’s political future.
