Senator Imasuen Presents 30 Months of Service To Senatorial Leaders, Stakeholders In Edo South
——-appeals for Re- election

Senator Neda B. Imasuen Representing Edo South Senatorial District, on Saturday presented his 30-month Scorecard
To the Senatorial Leaders and Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress, Edo South .
Imasuen, presenting the “54-page _Account of Stewardship,” to the leaders at the residence of former Deputy governor, Honourable Pius Odobu, said , with humility and a profound sense of duty i render an account of my stewardship, and open my consultation, In accordance with the Electoral Act 2026 and the APC Guidelines for the Conduct of Party Primaries.
I, with your kind permission and God Almighty seek to commence consultations. It is therefore fitting that I first present my scorecard after 30 months of service in the Red Chamber.
The Senator stated that, ” I do not yield to despair. I hold an abiding faith in the policies of our government, both in Edo State and at the Federal level, because I am convinced that through discipline and consistency, our nation shall prevail.”
According to him, “This season in our history demands more than politics. It demands unity. It demands the bond of mutual love among all Edo people.
He appealed to all other aspirants to reject the language of hate speech, especially toward our brothers and sisters indicating interest in the senatorial district Our greatest victories will come not through division, but through synergy and cooperation.
He said, “the mandate you entrusted to me has been guided by one clear vision: to deliver a representation that is impactful and to elevate the quality of life for our people. That vision is anchored on human capital development, and it has shaped every achievement documented in the 54-page _Account of Stewardship_ now in your hands.” He stated.
“From the onset, our policy thrust has been Local Economic Development. We have chosen to invest in people, in education, in training and retraining, and in the strategic empowerment of our youth and women, with deliberate focus on the girl-child.
He said occupying a vital position at the national assembly at the moment was because there were a lot of first timers in the house, stressing that, such an opportunity might not avail itself the second time. So, the leadership must do all in their powers to send him back to become a ranking officer.
My covenant with you is transparent, accountable, and people-centred representation. Together, we shall build a stronger and more prosperous Edo South.
“Like Oliver Twist, I come before you today to ask for more. I ask for more because, as top business leaders often say, “The reward for hard work is more work.”
” I am ready! Send me again to the Red Chamber to become a ranking Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, to put me in a good position that I can serve our people better than I have done. Ranking will unlock unprecedented opportunities for you, my leaders, my stakeholders, and the entire Edo South.
For Orobosa Omo-Ojo, he said Senator Neda Imasuen is still reaching out to contestants to step down with their ambitions so that he could go for the second time.
Earlier, the senatorial leader and former deputy governor of the state, Pius Odubu, urged Senator Neda Imasuen to go about his campaign peacefully and that he should avoid the campaign of calumny.
Senator Imasuen, further listed his various achievements and promised to consolidate on them.
Presenting the score cards, he said,
“We have facilitated scholarships for students across the district, and we are set to commence the renovation and equipping of selected public schools. We have organized vocational and skill acquisition programmes in ICT, tailoring, welding, bag and shoe making, agriculture, and agro-processing, because dignity begins with the ability to earn.
“Our defining intervention has been in healthcare. We have taken medical care beyond hospital walls to the doorsteps of our people.
“To reduce maternal and infant mortality, we revived the time-tested role of traditional birth attendants, equipping them to provide prenatal and antenatal services to women who cannot access formal health centres. This programme is implemented under the strict supervision of the Edo State Ministry of Health in collaboration with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency to ensure compliance with medical standards.
“In road infrastructure, we have completed the first phase of two critical projects: the 3.5km Osasere Osayogie/Utekon Bypass link road, with dual side drainage, in Ovia North East LGA.
“We have also completed 2km of the Irokhin Road in Orhionmwon LGA. The extension of this road, from Ogan alongside others, is captured in the 2026 Appropriation Act.
” Operation light up Edo South Senatorial District. We are lighting up Edo South. To date, we have installed solar-powered streetlights on over 50 streets and rural communities across the district. The full list is contained in the publication before you.
“The first phase of our flagship Empowerment Programme has been concluded at the University of Benin Sports Complex, where hundreds of industrial sewing machines, grinding machines, generators, and other tools were distributed. The second phase will commence before the general elections.
“On the stubborn challenge of unemployment, our efforts have been deliberate. We have facilitated federal employment for over 23 graduates of Edo South extraction.
” These placements span the Nigeria Identity Management Commission – 2, Ministry of Police Affairs – 2, University of Benin – 5, Public Complaints Commission – 6, National Orthopaedic Hospital – 7 Doctors/Nurses, and NAFDAC – 1.
“The names and contact details of these beneficiaries are published in the ‘Account of Stewardship’ for transparency.
“We have also distributed transformers to communities across Ovia North East, Orhionmwon, Ikpoba-Okha, Oredo and my dear Uhunmwode LGAs. Energy remains the engine of enterprise and decent living, and this intervention shall continue.
” On legislation, my primary constitutional duty, you will agree that your Senator has stood tall and has earned national mention.
“My legislative focus remains clear: to sponsor bills and motions that guarantee peaceful coexistence and accelerate national development.
“Of particular interest to Edo South is my Bill for the Establishment of a Federal College of Education, Abudu. This institution will address the deficit of qualified teachers, raise educational standards, empower generations, and stimulate economic growth in Orhionmwon.
” I have also sponsored the Federal Medical Centres Act (Amendment) Bill to strengthen healthcare delivery nationwide.
“As Chairman, Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, Code of Conduct and Public Petitions, we have resolved over 29 petitions from Nigerians across the federation, restoring justice to individuals and communities.
“In addition, the Committee has considered and adopted over 20 reports in the public interest and in furtherance of good governance.
“These strides are not for political points alone. They are to make you, my leaders, proud, for truly, _Edo ‘Odion_ – Edo is first.
” In summary: We have retrained our people, especially the young, to make them competitive for the future. In healthcare, we have expanded access through sustained medical outreaches, providing thousands with free consultations, surgeries, and medications.
” We are supporting the upgrade of primary healthcare centres and donating medical equipment to deepen service delivery at the grassroots.
” On empowerment, we have facilitated grants and starter packs for small businesses, with emphasis on youths and women.
” We have advanced agricultural empowerment through training and the distribution of fertilizers, seedlings, and equipment to boost productivity and food security.
” On legislative trust, I have remained active in sponsoring and supporting bills and motions on economic development, education reform, and social protection. My voice on the floor of the Senate continues to echo the aspirations of Edo South and the Nigerian people.
” Infrastructure remains visible on our scorecard. We have facilitated the construction and rehabilitation of rural and urban roads to improve connectivity.
” We have installed solar-powered streetlights in over 40 communities, enhancing security and extending commercial life into the night.
“Ahead of us are projects already in motion: provision of boreholes for potable water, community electrification, and the reconnection of Abudu and environs to the National Grid. All I ask is your support and encouragement.
“Distinguished leaders, these are not mere statistics. They are empirical real changes in the lives of our people. Yet, I am the first to admit that much work remains. The next phase will deepen our focus on sustainable development, job creation, and improved public services.
