Ikom mega endorsement rally turnout, show of acceptability for Tinubu, Otu – Hon Abang

The parliamentarian representing the people of Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency in the Green Chamber of the National Assembly, Hon Victor Abang, has hailed the massive and exceptional turnout of Cross Riverians at the 1.5 million-man mega endorsement rally held at the Ikom Township in Ikom Local Government Area (LGA) of Cross River State last Saturday.

The rally, which was organised by the Prince Is Coming Movement led by the indefatigable Chief of Staff (CoS) to Governor Bassey Edet Otu, Hon Emmanuel Ironbar, and attended by chieftains of All Progressives Congress (APC), top government officials, stakeholders, and grassroots supporters from across the 18 LGAs in Cross River State, was aimed at championing the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Bassey Edet Otu for a second term in the 2027 General Election.

Hon Abang, believed to be one of the performing federal lawmakers from Cross River State, in a media chat, described the unprecedented crowd at the mega rally as an overwhelming show of acceptability for President Tinubu and Governor Otu. He said it was a profound demonstration of public confidence in the administrations of the duo of Tinubu and Otu.

The legislator known for his community engagement and deep concern for the plight of his constituents emphasized that the mammoth crowd at the mega rally sent a clear message that the people of Cross River State are fully behind the Renewed Hope agenda of the Tinubu-led federal government and the People-First agenda of Otu, popularly referred to as Sweet Prince.

“The monumentally large turnout at the mega endorsement rally held at the Ikom Township Stadium located within my constituency, was a clear testament to the acceptability of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and my dear governor, Senator (Prince) Bassey Edet Otu. It shows that indeed, Cross Riverians are totally pleased with President Tinubu and Governor Otu. They have shown that they appreciate the developmental strides of our governor in the state and the visionary policies of the President at the federal level. Honestly speaking, there is no denying the fact that Otu means well for Cross River State as has been seen in his various developmental strides to take the state to greater heights. Same with President Tinubu who has demonstrated a very strong commitment to repositioning Nigeria for a better future via the several reforms he has embarked upon. Tinubu has given great attention to Cross River State with the numerous interventions he has made in the interest of the state. Therefore, we have no choice other than endorsing him for a second term along with our amiable governor who has made a lot of difference in governance since he assumed office,” Hon Abang averred.

Continuing he added: “As a people, we, in Cross River State, strongly believe that President Tinubu and Governor Otu have done so well to deserve re-election in 2027. It does not make sense for anyone to contemplate changing a winning team. The duo of Tinubu and Otu have demonstrated courage and boldness in the administration of the affairs of Nigeria and Cross River State respectively. It takes leaders with boldness and courage to be able to make decisions that will be in the best interest of the generality of the people without minding whose ox is gored. We need leaders that are truly determined to make a difference and build a better future for the people. We are solidly standing behind Tinubu and Otu for another term come 2027 because they have shown sufficient capacity to lead and govern well.”

He applauded the Cross River State Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peter Odey who represented Governor Otu, Chief of Staff, Ironbar, who is the Director General of the Prince Is Coming Movement and all those involved in the organisation and coordination of the event for ensuring the maintenance of peace and demonstration of unity in purpose, noting that the endorsement was a direct response to the visible improvements in security and infrastructural development.
