2027: Why Zacchaeus Jonathan Is ADC’s Best Bet to Win Kogi West Senate

Politics rewards loyalty, and in Kogi West, no one has paid more dues to the ADC than Surveyor Zacchaeus Jonathan.
While others joined ADC for convenience, Zacch _built_ it. After PDP denied him the Lokoja II Assembly ticket in 2007, he moved to ADC where Chief Ralph Nwosu told him: “Establish this party in Kogi.” He did exactly that — contested that year, fought his way through a rigged election to the Tribunal, won a re-run, and never looked back.
By 2018, he opened ADC’s Lokoja office and vowed the party would “sweep aside the ruling APC.” When storms came, he didn’t defect. He stayed, building youth and women structures across Lokoja/Kogi LGAs for 18 straight years.
And he works without a government seat. Check the record: He built the Ganaja junction bridge to end erosion suffering. Gave displaced Bassa/Gbagi families a primary school in Igahachi. Donated laptops to GSS Agbaja’s ICT lab. Funded Google/Jobberman training for Lokoja youths. Supplied materials to save a mosque from collapse.
“I sponsored Empowerment Training for youth… I paid the bills,” he said in 2023. No public funds. Just personal sacrifice.
From ADC in 2019, to Labour in 2023, to NNPP primaries in 2022, one thing never changed: _the people stayed with him_. In 2019, Inspired Youths called him “synonymous with excellence” for his philanthropy. His mantra? “Competence, commitment, character, compassion and capacity.”
Now he’s back in ADC and says 2027 “will be a different ballgame.” With the party facing factions, elders see him as the stabilizing founder who never betrayed its colors — even when ADC Rep Leke Abejide endorsed Tinubu in 2023, Zacch held the line.
Surveyor. GIS expert. Ex-lecturer. Union leader. Tribunal-tested. Project-proven.
For ADC to finally break PDP/APC hold on Kogi West, the answer may be simple: Field the man who built the house.
2027 question: Will ADC reward 18 years of loyalty? And will Kogi West voters finally give Zacch the mandate he’s earned?
